Police on June 17 arrested a Reedley resident who recently was profiled in the monthly Crime Stoppers notice.

Derrik Balladarez, 20, carried a felony warrant of possessing a dirk or dagger when he was taken into custody in the 600 block of East Springfield Avenue shortly before 10 a.m., according to police Sgt. Todd Lowery. Balladarez faced a charge of deterring an officer by threat or violence when he allegedly tried to kick through the barricade window of the police vehicle.

In addition to the felony charges, Balladarez was charged with misdemeanor counts of obstructing an officer and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Balladerez remained in custody as of June 19, according to the Fresno County Jail’s booking records.
