Marvin Just Jr. was born on November 11, 1935 and died on March 24 , 2019. His wife and children were with him. He was born in Dinuba California to Marvin and Emma Just, the first of four children. He graduated from Immanuel Bible School in 1953, and he attended Reedley college where he was a member of the student Business club. During that time, he figured out that one did not need to be a missionary or a pastor to serve God and his kingdom; business men can do that do. That’s what Marvin did throughout his adult life. Marvin registered as a non-combatant in the draft and volunteered in Kings View Hospital near Reedley where he met his lovely wife, Tips Bergen from Drake, Saskatewan, Canada. They were married in Drake on June 17, 1961. They believed God brought them together, and they had a wonderful marriage that lasted 57 years. Together, they raised four children. Marvin was a local businessman who owned a furniture business, a real estate company, and self-storage units. He faithfully used his businesses to support ministries locally and globally in addition to supporting his family. Marvin had many hobbies he enjoyed with his family. He loved photography, motorcycle riding, both dirt and street, camping, waterskiing on the Kings River, fishing, and many trips to Canada to visit Tips’ family. He spent many hours in his wood shop building potting benches and chairs, many of which he donated to local charities, and he loved to include his grandchildren in whatever project he was working on. Marvin was 12 years old when he accepted the Lord, a decision he would continually refer to as the most important decision he ever made. He was baptized in the Kings River and became a member of RMBC on June 13, 1948, where he faithfully attended and served his whole life. RMBC, Immanuel Schools, MB Pacific District Conference, MB Missions (now Multiply), and many others. He was also a member of the Reedley Rotary Club. He is survived by his loving wife Tips, his children, Cindy (David) Carter, Steve (Barb) Just, Kari (Rick) Kirkwood, and Jeff (Julie) Just, his 13 grandchildren, and his sisters Carolyn Moshier & TC and Janice Fridolfs & Marlin.
Services were held April 2, 2019 at Reedley Mennonite Brethren Church. Donations can be made In lieu of flowers to Immanuel Schools Scholarship Fund or Multiply (former MB Missions).
