Two Reedley Little League All-Star teams split their first two games in District 10 tournament action as they tried to qualify for section competition.
At Camacho Park, the Reedley 11-year-olds bounced back from a 14-2 opening loss to Selma on June 15 and outlasted Chowchilla by a 15-11 score on June 17. That advanced the hosts to a June 18 evening game against Madera American, which had lost 10-0 to Madera National on June 17. Results of the game were unavailable at press time.
In Fresno, Reedley's 10-year-old team posted a 7-2 win over Madera American on June 17 at Riverpark Little League complex. The team rallied from a 7-0 loss to Chowchilla on June 16, and advanced them to a bottom half of the bracket game with Riverpark Red on June 18. Results were unavailable at press time.
In the 11s tournament at Camacho Park, Madera National and Riverpark posted 2-0 records while scoring 10 or more runs in each game. The two unbeatens square off at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 20, with the winner advancing to the championship game on Monday, June 24. If necessary, a second game would be played on Tuesday, June 25.
