RC football celebrates

Reedley College football players and coaches gathered for a group celebration photo on Nov. 10 after closing out a perfect regular season with a 46-34 victory over Hartnell College in Salinas. The Tigers (10-0) will host DeAnza College on Saturday, Nov/ 17, at 2 p.m. in the Northern California Football Association American Division championship game.

It took a come from behind victory over the Hartnell College Panthers on Nov. 10 to complete a perfect 10-0 season for the 2018 Reedley College football team.

Quarterback Randall Johnson and a bend-but-not-break defense led Reedley to a 46-34 victory over the 8-2 Hartnell College Panthers at Rabobank Stadium in Salinas.

Now a Saturday, Nov. 17, bowl game awaits the Golden Coast Conference champion Tigers. The California Community College Athletic Association announced on Sunday that Reedley will host the DeAnza College Dons in a  2 p.m. kickoff at Reedley High School’s Sal Gonzalez Field in the Northern California Football Association American Division championship game.

Since Reedley outscored DeAnza 57-47 back in the season opener in Cupertino, the Dons have put together nine straight wins. The latest was a wild 58-52 overtime victory over the Yuba College 49ers in Cupertino on Nov. 10.
