Reedley High's winter sports teams headed into the Thanksgiving week break tuning up for season openers.

Boys and girls basketball and girls soccer opened the season with games and matches on Nov. 20. On the court, the Pirate boys hosted Orange Cove while the girls traveled to Kingsburg. Results were unavailable at press time.

Reedley's soccer had its Nov. 20 opener on the road at Madera South moved up to a morning start because of the poor air quality around the state from wildfires.

On Monday, Nov. 26, Reedley High's defending Division 2 section champion boys soccer team will host Selma in a 6 p.m. start at Sal Gonzalez Field. That same night, the Pirate girls host Foothill in a 6:30 p.m. tipoff in non-league action at RHS gym. On Tuesday, Nov. 27, RHS hosts Bullard in a 6 p.m. varsity start in girls soccer while the girls basketball team tips off against Mendota in a 6:30 p.m. home game.

Also on Nov. 27, Reedley High's boys wrestling team travels to Parlier for a 5 p.m. dual meet. The Pirates girls' opener will be Friday, Nov. 30, in the Last Girl Standing tournament at Lemoore High School.
