The Orosi High girls softball team picked up its first win of the season on Mar. 19 as the Cardinals defeated host Parlier, 12-2.

The Panthers scored the first run of the game in the bottom of the first and Orosi tied the game after a run in the top of the third. The Cardinals followed up with a four run fourth and eventually put the game away with a six run seventh.

Orosi’s offense was kept in check in a 12-0 loss to Riverdale on Mar. 21 in Riverdale.

The Cardinals came close to picking up a win earlier in the week against Minarets. Orosi scored three runs in the bottom of the second for a 3-0 lead and held a 3-1 advantage heading into the top of the sixth.

The Mustangs scored five runs in the sixth and seven runs in the seventh for a 13-3 win.

OHS baseball team blanked by Riverdale: The Orosi High baseball team is still searching for their first West Sequoia League win as the Cardinals were shutout by Riverdale on Mar. 22.

Orosi was held to three hits in the loss while the Cowboys had 11 and scored a run in the top of the second and three in the third.

On Mar. 19 at Parlier, the Cardinals had a 2-1 lead heading into the bottom of the third until the Panthers scored five runs for a 6-2 advantage. Parlier added two runs in the fifth and six runs in the sixth.
